Mission Statement
The Island of Peace Children's Home provides a safe, peaceful, and loving home environment for vulnerable children. We are dedicated to their holistic development through our comprehensive Paideia Education Program, a robust Life Skills and Development curriculum, and a strong focus on family and community integration, ensuring they transition into adulthood with dignity and purpose.
Our Core Values (HICCE)
1. Holistic Growth (Paideia): We believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Our programs are designed to go beyond academics, focusing on character development, life skills, emotional resilience, and personal well-being to ensure our children are prepared for all aspects of life.
2. Integrity: We operate with unwavering honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our interactions and programs. We are committed to ethical stewardship of our resources and to maintaining the trust of the children, families, staff, and donors we serve.
3. Compassion: We lead with empathy and kindness, creating a nurturing and supportive environment where every child feels loved, safe, and understood. Our actions are guided by a deep commitment to the well-being and emotional healing of each child.
4. Community & Family: We are dedicated to fostering strong connections. We work to maintain and reintegrate children with their extended families and communities whenever possible, and we build a sense of belonging within the Home. We believe that a strong network is essential for a child's successful future.
5. Excellence: We are committed to providing the highest quality of care, education, and support. We continuously seek to improve our programs, innovate our methods, and set a standard of excellence in the care of vulnerable children.
